Top Pohar IV
€159.00
pohar (Assamese) - light
This top is part of our Pohar Collection, and is available in different colors: light rose (naturally dyed with Indian madder), yellow (naturally dyed with turmeric), natural cream (undyed) and burgundy stripes (naturally dyed with lac). This top is hand-spun and hand-woven by our team in Assam and sewn in a small studio in South Delhi. The silk is called eri silk and cultivated by Assamese tribal communities South West of Guwahati. It is a wild silk and the moth leaves a hole in the cocoon as it has to be empty before it can be processed. Therefore it has a structure which is rather similar to linen. No chemicals or pesticides have been used during the process. The top is delicately made with reconstructed darts resulting in a T shape. It also has a slit on both sides of the seam which makes it comfortable to take on and off. At the neck it has a beautiful slit. The model is a size M.- 100% eri silk from Assam
