This scarf is made from the soft dark brown yak wool and lambswool which is naturally dyed with lac. On the Changthang Plateau, the majority of the yaks is dark brown. It is hand-spun and hand-woven in Ladakh. Yak wool keeps extremely warm and is very soft. It comes from the down of the yak, the layer closest to a yak's body called khullu. The fiber is taken by hand in the months of June and July.
