This shirt is hand-spun and hand-woven by our team in Assam and sewn in a small women-led studio in Bangalore. The silk is called eri silk and cultivated by Assamese tribal communities South West of Guwahati. This garment is made from the very rare red cocoons. The shade of the cocoons naturally reduces during the processing from cocoon to fiber but fabric made from it has a subtle lining which is more obvious than the white eri cocoon. Eri silk is a wild silk and the moth leaves a hole in the cocoon as it has to be empty before it can be processed. Therefore it has a structure which is rather similar to linen. No chemicals or pesticides have been used during the process. The top has a very relaxed fit. It can be worn loose or tucked in. The model wears size M. The collar is elegant and there is delicate stitching on the sleeves. The buttons are 100% pearl.

The fabric and the dye will change over time - the silk is becoming softer and the dyes lighter. Please cold wash only with mild detergent and dry in the shade. Do not soak.
