Eri Silk Scarf Lac Masala

€115.00
This scarf is hand-spun and hand-woven by our team in Assam. The yarn is naturally dyed with lac, madder, tea leaves and many other shades - it is a "masala" of numerous different natural dyes we have dyed over the years. Each scarf follows the same color family but of course, is unique in the placement of individual color blocks.
The silk is called eri silk and cultivated by Assamese tribal communities South West of Guwahati. It is a wild silk and the moth leaves a hole in the cocoon as it has to be empty before it can be processed. Therefore it has a structure which is rather similar to linen.

      • 100% eri silk from Assam
