After spinning, the yarn is mordanted and bundle dyed with black scabiosa and orange dahlia. Bundle dyeing means the yarns are covered with the dye material, then bundled up tightly with a cloth and then steamed for the pigments of the plants to release slowly. That's why each skein is unique.\u003cbr\u003eSpinning yarn is the second step in making woolen fabric and a wonderful, loosely spun yarn for weaving, knitting or felting. Before it is spun it has been skirted - the removal of thorns and other dirt, then washed by hand and machine carded. It comes from the sheep of our team from \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.wearekal.com\/pages\/ladakh\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eChangthang\u003c\/a\u003e.\u003cbr\u003eThe sheep live at an altitude between 4000m and 5000m, therefore the wool promises excellent warmth for the colder days. The handspinning assures a 100% pure and natural sheep wool.
