This shawl is hand-spun and hand-woven by our team member Vishwanath in Himachal Pradesh. It is made from soft yak wool and lambswool from our nomadic team in Changthang in Ladakh. The yak wool is called 'khullu' and is the soft undercoat of the yak. The lambswool is taken once of the young sheep at an age of around 7 months and has a fiber length of 50mm. The lambswool was dyed and carded in Ladakh by Angtak & Catherine and then spun together with the yak wool to create this checked design.
